MIFF 2009: The 2nd Peek

Following the announcement of opening and closing night films, MIFF has now revealed a number of other titles being screened across the different streams. As usual, I'm particularly interested in the retrospectives and this year there's one on Anna Karina. But I know jack about nearly every other title, so any tips for or against are welcome.

Mr Ebert simply loves Agnes Varda, his 4 star review of The Beaches of Agnes is here. For a Francophile like yourself, a must see?

Robert, as a subscriber to Ebert's mailing list, I had mentally noted that he gave that 4 (out of 4) stars, and that review is indeed glowing. I had planned to see it, more because of Varda's reputation.
